Standing in the clouds, dreaming

A view from the top of Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands. This is the highest mountain in the UK. It took me four hours to climb it (well I was taking photographs which slowed me down). It also took four hours to get down it again. I was in Fort William for a week and this was the only time a clear sky was forecast. I had until the early afternoon before rain was due to come in. I got to the top and took my pictures and then, at about 2pm it rained. I was already on my way down by then. It really rained and I was soaked. After about an hour of that the sun came out again and by the time I got to the bottom I was dry again and my clothes had been steaming as I was walking. It was very tiring and my legs hurt like mad for the next two or three days but it was worth all the pain.
