Boat storage by LordLJCornellPhotos Boat storage by LordLJCornellPhotos
I just wanted to show you one of the upturned boats that has been converted into a storage shed by the fishermen on Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Northumberland, North East England. I think they are wonderful.

Butlin's new "state if the art" chalets left a lot to be desired.

In Normandy there are many of fisherman's small house made with a hull boat

It's called in french "une caloge"

The most famous in Normandy is in Etretat and belonged to Guy de Maupassant

Beautiful capture as always dear Lawrence

OH my goodness! I would live there!!! With a tiny chimney coming out of the sun-ward side and a rocking chair in the little hollow of the ground by the door, potted roses all the way around the perimeter- I can just imagine the smell of the felt/tar paper (if that's what it is) early in the morning :-) new life goal, thanks a lot!

It's brilliant isn't it? I would love to live in one too. In the summer when it gets warm it would smell musty but very cozy. In the winter it would be great inside with the weather raging outside. They are just so lovely :)
