I am going out and about with my camera soon. In about a week's time actually. It will be good as I haven't been anywhere this year yet. Like a lot of Europe it has been exceptionally hot here in the last two or three weeks. Things seem to be returning to normal now which will be a relief in many ways. Naturally, when I am away I hope to see rain and storm clouds for my pictures I like a bit of atmosphere The place I am going should supply that I think  
So how are you all? Still creating your wonderful art I see. I have actually been keeping up with dA in the last few weeks. It is rare for me but I am happy to say I am pretty up to date. Of course, this won't last but I thought it was worth sharing with you today It is great to create something and put it out there and get some feed back. You never know who will see it or what it will mean to them. I love to hear from people who have had their memories stirred by one of my pictures. Of course I didn't know them so it was pure chance but life is full of such events of pure chance. Some call it being lucky and some call it fate but there are many lovely consequences that can come from you just sharing a picture or some words or an act of kindness. 

I recently found a poem by The Earl Of Haddington (who? I hear you cry). It is a Scottish title and he lives near Kelso in Berwickshire I believe. When you read the words you will see why it caught my eye. 

I LOVE MOUNTAINS
I love mountains! I love mountains high,
That stand impregnable, their pencilled peaks
Seeking the lone wide emptiness of sky;
Silent, eternal; I love mountains, too,
Drawn on a dim horizon, smoky blue;
O, we'll hie yonder, when a moon brings May,
And the discovery of each new day
Is joy beyond our dreaming

I love mountains old
That hidden ages waited to unfold,
And winds to waste and mould,
with rain tracing her fingers everywhere;
These, the great architects of time
Did fashion into feature more sublime,
And seasons, wheeling on from spring to spring,
Dressed them in yellow broom, or purple ling,
And they were mountains; that was everything

Now, I don't believe he is a successful poet and, to be honest, much of the rest of his book does  nothing for me. This poem, however, did mean something to me and I enjoy it. I guess he hoped people would like his poetry but he may never know. As far as I am aware, he is still alive and living at the ancestral home in Scotland. I wonder, should I write to him and tell him I like it? He published it in 1970. It might make him smile so I think I will drop him a line. I think it will mean something to him. It is like me leaving a comment on a picture here only it will take slightly more effort. 
I think people like to know that you like their pictures so that's why I think comments are good. Always let someone know if they have made something you have enjoyed
